Malaysian Skills Certificate Program

Malaysian Skills Certificate Program Capture Fisheries Operations LEVEL 3

The Malaysian Skills Certificate (SKM) Program in Capture Fisheries Operations Level 3 is a skills training offered at the Malaysian Fisheries Academy (APM) as an Accredited Center (PB) under the supervision of the Agricultural Training Capacity Development Division (BPKLP), Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (KPKM). The aim is to produce skilled workers in the field of capture fisheries. This program is implemented with an integrated approach that includes 30% theoretical knowledge and 70% practical skills, to ensure that students not only understand the basic knowledge but are also skilled in carrying out tasks in the field. Students will study core courses related to capture fisheries operations such as the use of nets, traps, longlines, marine engine maintenance, vessel navigation and vessel maintenance skills. In addition, there are also mandatory courses such as entrepreneurship, agricultural science, agricultural computers, and Co-Abilities courses. Industrial training is also mandatory to provide exposure to real experience in the field.

Training Period

The training period for this program is 2 years (80 weeks) with a total of 60 credit hours.
