Highlights from the practical training session on the operation of commercial fish catching gear – purse seine nets by students of the Malaysian Skills Certificate (Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia), Level 3, Capture Fisheries Technology Program.

The training was conducted onboard a local purse seine fishing vessel in the waters around Beting Lintang, Besut, Terengganu. The practical session was carried out under the supervision of instructors, as well as the vessel owner and crew involved in the training.

The equipment used during this session was a purse seine net targeting anchovy (ikan bilis) as the main catch species.
